Due to the demanding and tight specifications that need to be met, these felts are usually manufactured in sheet form and using highest quality wools.

Standard sizes for sheet felts are 36” x 36” or 1000mm x 1000mm. Thicknesses range from 1/8” (3mm) to 2” (50mm) and densities from 18lbs/sq.yd (0.38g/cm3) to 32lbs/sq.yd (0.68g/cm3).

Their hardness and structure make them ideal for being milled, ground, turned on a lathe, drilled or dye cut, being able to take any shape that the application may require.

Sheet felts are used in many industrial applications where maximum durability,  high strength, tight tolerances and high performance are required.

Some applications for technical felts are: polishing, musical instruments, bumpers, lubrication, wicking, fluid transfer, pen and marker nibs, leather embossing.
